Today, Let’s Explore: Sustaining Success and Navigating Change for The Future

Sustaining Success and Navigating Change for the Future

Hi, I’m Gearl Loden, and I’m so glad you’re here. Whether this is your first visit or you’re returning to dive deeper, I invite you to explore the tools, insights, and support we offer through Loden Leadership and Consulting Group—built to help leaders thrive in a fast-changing world.

A Practitioner’s Approach to Coaching Leaders Across Sectors

At Loden Leadership, we don’t just teach leadership—we’ve lived it. With a career rooted in education and expanded through deep collaboration with healthcare, business, and community leaders, I bring practical, real-world insight into every coaching conversation.

Today, I work with leaders across industries—from superintendents and CEOs to small business owners and nonprofit executives—helping them navigate complexity, lead with clarity, and create systems that truly support people.

Our coaching approach blends real-world leadership, neuroscience-backed strategies, and a proven model we call “Core–Crud–Crust.”

The Core–Crud–Crust Model: Lead From Your Center

Many leaders operate from the “crust”—the surface-level roles, routines, and responsibilities that come with the job. Some get stuck in the “crud”—the clutter of distractions, insecurities, and outdated habits.

But sustainable leadership happens at the core—where clarity, purpose, and bold action align. Through coaching, we help leaders break through the crust, clear out the crud, and lead from their core. That’s where transformation begins.

My Leadership Journey

I didn’t start out as a high achiever. I struggled in school—no kindergarten, behind in first grade, and later diagnosed with dyslexia, ADHD, and speech challenges. And I’m color-blind.

But those early obstacles taught me grit, compassion, and the value of great mentors. They shaped my leadership path—from the classroom to the superintendent’s office.

  • Mississippi State Superintendent of the Year (2015) – Recognized for transforming underperforming districts and building capacity at every level.
  • Springfield Man of the Year – Honored for community impact and service.

And now, I use those experiences to help others lead more powerfully and authentically—especially during times of change.

Your Next Step Forward

If you’re leading through change, scaling success, or simply feeling stuck in the “crud” of leadership—you’re not alone. And you don’t have to go it alone.

Let’s work together to sharpen your focus, align your people and systems, and help you lead from your core—with confidence.

It’s here. And here’s exactly how to use it.

Writing this book was not a simple process. It required me to be honest about my own failures as a leader, not just the lessons I learned from watching others, but the moments where I was the one who missed. Where I let a standard slip. Where I avoided a conversation I should have had. Where I borrowed against trust I hadn’t fully repaid.

Effective Internal Communication: Tips for Growing Teams

One of the most common challenges I help leaders navigate as their organizations grow is maintaining clear, trusted communication. Honor Wins and Picture Success Ahead

A weekly review turns into paperwork the moment it becomes accounting. You tally what got done, square the columns, feel briefly organized, and walk into Monday no different than before. The form gets filled. Nothing inside you actually shifts.

I stopped treating mine as a ledger. I treat it as reflection.
